Cookies.

What we store on your device, why, and how to change your mind. The short of it: the site works on essential cookies alone, and asks before switching anything else on.

The short version

We keep this simple. There are two kinds of cookie here: the ones that keep the site working, which are always on, and functional ones, which stay off until you say yes. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell anything about you.

Strictly necessary (always on)

These make the site work and remember the choices you make here. They need no permission because the site cannot do its job without them.

  • Remembering your cookie choice, so we do not ask again every visit.
  • Remembering that you closed a pop-up, so it stays closed.
  • The booking calendar: when you open a booking page and check availability, the calendar loads because you asked for it. It is provided by our booking system, GoHighLevel, and is essential to that service.

These are small notes stored in your browser, on this site only. Clearing your browser storage removes them, and the banner will simply ask you again.

Functional (off until you accept)

These add helpful extras that are not essential, so we switch them on only if you accept.

  • Live chat: our chat assistant, provided by GoHighLevel, so you can message us from any page. If you choose essential only, the chat does not load at all, and nothing is requested from it.

If we ever add anything else in this category, such as visitor analytics, it goes here and stays off until you accept.

Changing your mind

Use here, or the same link in the footer of any page, to bring the banner back and change your choice whenever you like. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time.

Questions

A postcard · now and then

Notes from the road.

Route ideas, campervan availability and the odd trip note from Walsall. No noise, and you can step off the list whenever you like.
